Edjwin

Edjwin disappeared into the streets of Les Cayes for six months. His mother, who never saw him, thought her son was dead. Edjwin wanted to go home, but was afraid his family would reject him, so he would hide from view, watching his family.

Edjwin was already in 5th grade and, at the meeting held with street children in 2014, he filled out his own profile document.

When his mother was told he was alive and wanted to come home, his mother balked at the plan, believing she would lose him again, to the streets or death, and she just couldn’t handle the pain.

With help from LFBS Outreach workers and local Social Services, Edjwin was reunited with his family, and is continuing his education, as well as attending the summer program for OUR GARDEN HAITI.
